This project was a fun one, and a special one for me personally. Swill was one of 10 Barrel Brewing Company’s most iconic beers and it had a cult following for years. It was an American Radler, half grapefruit soda and half sour beer, perfect for summer.

I was the lead on this project, and many of the ideas shown here I came up with all on my own. The goal was to come up with a core concept for the Swill brand that anyone could be a part of. This concept would drive every other part of the brand including ads, merchandise, photography, etc. so having a solid identity was crucial. The idea I came up with was simple.

Swill is made for Backyards.

Everyone can relate to chilling in what they call their backyard during the summertime. Once the Backyard concept was established, I started creating graphics, moodboards, and other assets that would be used to help support the Swill brand across all of 10 Barrel’s channels and markets. I also came up with an idea for a video series called the ‘Swill Summer Cocktail Series’ where we had bartenders from our pubs make cocktails using Swill at a homemade bar in different people’s backyards! I drew inspiration from Bombay Sapphire’s Bartender in Residence video series.
